Dear Editor,

I wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much I enjoyed myself at the Fermoy International Poetry Festival. Coming to Fermoy felt much like coming home. The climate and the scenery were lovely. What a treat! Your people were so friendly and welcoming.

My hosts for the Festival were Nuala and John Rice. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful place to stay, or more gracious and charming hosts. I was also lucky enough to spend some time with Gene and Margo Barry. They rescued me when I made a mistake with my plane tickets.

During the Festival, I was fortunate to read at Lombard’s Pub, O’Brien’s Restaurant and Café Mocha. I had so much fun! I also truly enjoyed the readings I attended at other pubs and shops in town. The Grand Hotel was a wonderful meeting place – and I am in love with your beautiful river. I had wonderful conversations with Ursula, Tony, Joe, Pauline and others. I was also fortunate to meet, read and speak with many international and Irish poets. I am so grateful!

I am already planning my return to Fermoy next year. Thank you so much! This trip was the highlight of my life.
