
A family living in Mitchelstown are faced with mould, damp, rot and leaks in their rented accommodation as they await social housing.
The couple, who have two young children, have expressed fears for their children and their own health due to their current housing situation, but have said they have yet to be offered a house, despite being on the housing list for a number of years.
“There’s mould. The place is rotting. When it rains, water leaks down the walls and the light switches are getting wet. We’ve two young kids and our daughter was in hospital with pneumonia because of it,” the father claimed.
