76-year-old Gloria Ware, a resident of Aperee Living in Conna, gave fellow residents and staff a shock recently, as she bravely took on the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ in aid of Pieta.

On Friday last, May 9th, the resident enlisted the help of staff to have a bucket of water dunked over her at the nursing home in a bid to raise funds for the worthy charity.

Speaking with The Avondhu, Ms Ware said that she came across the idea while watching a British morning show in which two people took on the Ice Bucket Challenge for Mind, a UK mental health charity.
