History of Dr. Harty Cup launched

The first ever history of the Dr. Harty Cup, which has been contested annually since 1918, was launched on Wednesday, December 10th at the Derrynaflan Theatre at the Horse and Jockey Hotel, Thurles in County Tipperary.

Written by McNamee Award winner, Liam Ó Donnchú, the book runs to over 600 pages and charts the development of the competition from the beginning, and details its influence on the success of hurling in participant Munster counties. Author and journalist Damian Lawlor MC’d the event.
