Gardaí are investigating a fire that occurred in the Townparks East area of Tallow, which has resulted in significant damage to the Brideview United FC clubhouse at Leonard Fraser Park grounds.
The fire, which broke out at approximately 3.15am on Monday, May 3, saw emergency services attend the scene which was then preserved for technical examination.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident and no arrests were made, as a Garda spokesperson said that ‘investigations are ongoing’.
Liam Fraser of Brideview United confirmed to The Avondhu that the fire was not malicious, stating that the club confident that the cause of the fire was an electrical fault.
