NETWORKING OPPORTUNITY

Speaking at the launch of this summer’s event, Director of Teagasc Professor Frank O’Mara said that the event is an opportunity for connecting with farmers.

“The beef sector is extremely important to the national economy and plays a crucial role in generating activity in the rural economy. Cattle farming is critical to rural Ireland, and the grass based, family farm systems used in Ireland provides sustainably produced beef for Irish and international markets.”

While head of drystock knowledge transfer in Teagasc, Pearse Kelly said, “The latest suckler beef research along with the trial work on dairy calf to beef will be showcased on the day, so there will be something relevant and of interest for all cattle farmers, irrespective of their production systems.”
