Council ‘fully committed’ to Lismore fire station

“In relation to the fire station in Lismore, we are fully committed as a local authority to it,”  Waterford City and County Council’s director of housing, community and emergency services, Seamus de Faoite said this week. 

The comments came after significant funding was announced for new build fire stations and fire station upgrades under the Fire Services Capital Programme last week, including a sum of €3 million for the neighbouring Tallow Fire Station, where a new-build station will be provided.

Welcoming the funding for Tallow, Cllr John Pratt said he hopes to see it delivered in the near future, however, noted that Lismore had also made an application for funding under the scheme.
