Ashe Quay, which fronts the River Blackwater, was a pedestrian zone for last Sunday’s very enjoyable family fun day in Fermoy.
The fun day brought the curtain down on Fermoy Festival 2017 – an event that attracted support from a variety of voluntary and community groups in Fermoy.
Thankfully, the rain stayed away which made for a relaxed and convivial atmosphere in the centre of town.
Last Sunday was of course All-Ireland hurling Sunday with considerable local interest in the outcomes. Unfortunately, Denis Ring’s minors had to give way to Galway with the Tribesmen making it a double when they accounted for Waterford in the senior decider.
