
‘Separate Beds’ by Sam Cree was the play Burncourt Drama Group chose for the 2026 campaign. The group put their own south Tipperary slant on the popular comedy, which in no way diluted its appeal.
We got a chance to meet the cast, interact with the audience and generally get a feel for proceedings, when we visited Burncourt Community Centre last Saturday night.
We met locals, insiders, outsiders, special guests and occasional theatre-goers at the show, that finished as it started – with another full house. The cast and crew promised and delivered on their pledge to ‘send ’em home laughing’ and laughter, as everyone in Burncourt knows, is undoubtedly the best medicine. The play with its outlandish plot twists and fondness for chaos, found willing participants in an all star cast, that were better with each passing night.
