Construction work on the planned M8 service station outside Fermoy is set to commence in the coming weeks with the development expected to open in early 2018.
Topaz and McDonalds, who are working in conjunction with local developers JR Oronco, originally indicated that the development would be open by autumn 2017.
An estimated 100 jobs will be created during both the construction phase and once the service station is open on the outskirts of Fermoy. A similar development opened along the M9 in Carlow in March.
