Kildinan native Darragh Casey, who is now based in Barcelona, has been commissioned by BT to produce trophies for the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition (BTYSTE).
Darragh, who is a 3D designer/maker, works between product, furniture, interior and architecture and has been commissioned to make a set of perpetual trophies for the next six years.
He secured the commission through entering a competition created in collaboration between BTYSTE and the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCOI).
Speaking to The Avondhu about his unique design, Darragh said the design is formed from the letters BT at the base ‘and YS at the top and a flowing geometry is formed in between’.
