Post 25, the Fermoy-based branch of the Irish United Nations Veterans Association (IUNVA), said farewell to their home at Fitzgerald Place in the town this week.

A coffee morning last Friday (21st), saw the veterans gather with friends and family, marking the final function at the headquarters where they had spent the past 10 years – their last official day on site was Tuesday, August 25th.

Speaking at Friday’s function, chairman Tom McCarthy described the day as the ‘end of an era’ for Post 25, as he thanked the property owners who leased the building to them, the people of Fermoy and the business people locally for their support.
