Vaccine roll set to begin in the region’s nursing homes

The first doses of vaccines to counter Covid-19 are set to be issued in the coming week across the region with nursing homes being first to see inoculations.

Provisional dates have been released by authorities and medics will begin the process on Monday, January 11 as facilities in counties Limerick, Tipperary and Cork will begin receiving the life saving serum. 

The first will be Amberley Home Convalescent & Respite Care in Fermoy on January 11 with others following in the coming weeks. Fermoy Community Hospital will receive the much anticipated vaccine on January 14.

In Waterford the Padre Pio Nursing Home Waterford in Cappoquin will be administered on January 21 while Lismore’s St Carthage’s House Limited will receive it on January 29.
