Bittersweet moment as Liam O’Brien joins Pinarello Q36.5

Fermoy cyclist, Liam O’Brien will join the Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team from January 1st, 2027. The 21-year-old has signed a three year contract, joining from the Lidl-Trek Future Racing, making the move following three seasons within the WorldTour team’s development structure. 

“Becoming a professional cyclist is a childhood dream coming true. I’ve learnt a huge amount over the past three years, both as a rider and as a person, and I feel ready for this next step,” he said.

“From my first conversations with Douglas and the other managers, I immediately felt a connection with the team and a really positive environment. That was important to me. I want to keep developing, learn from the people around me and contribute to the team from the beginning”.
