The transformation of Forrest Hall in Mitchelstown from a derelict building to a modern community amenity, came full circle last week, when it was officially opened to the public.
The building in New Square which has undergone extensive repairs under Mitchelstown Community Council (MCC), was officially opened by Cork County Mayor Seamus McGrath, last Thursday.
The Mayor, speaking at the opening, said a tremendous turn around has happened to bring the building to the point where it is now and commended all involved, especially Mitchelstown Community Council and their chairperson, Sean Finn.
“I have only gotten to know him earlier, but he certainly strikes me as a man, that if you want to get the job done, he is the man to give it to, so you very fortunate to have such active and vibrant volunteers here,” he said.
