
After over 10 years of being closed to the public, Conna Castle finally reopened to tours on Saturday and Sunday last.
The newly formed community group, Conna History and Heritage Club, who are expected to meet soon to discuss access to the castle going forward, have been provide with a key to the historic structure.
News of last weekend’s access to the castle follows a tour arranged with the Office of Public Works (OPW) by a small group of locals in November 2025, which marked the first time public access was granted since 2015. Conna History and Heritage Club member, Tom Finn, who has been lobbying for many years for public access to Conna Castle, explained that since that initial visit some 6 months ago, the community have been working towards regaining regular access to the local heritage site.
