Supporting 'Ballyhea Says No' on Sunday last for the final march were, Kieran Neligan, Pat Conroy, William Hughes, Pat Mahon, Lorraine Marshall and Howard Marshall.

Five years after first marching in protest against the imposition of banking debt on the Irish State, the Ballyhea Says No campaign have suspended their weekly march in the north Cork village, instead turning their attentions to building the campaign politically.

Joining the crowds at the final march, numbering around 200, were members of the Fermoy Says No campaign, as well as notable political figures including MEPs Liadh Ní Riada and Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan.

Pat Conroy of the Fermoy Says No contingent said the popularity of the Ballyhea campaign (marched every Sunday since March 6, 2011), is a testament to the will of the people, as is the recent general election result.

During the five-year marching campaign, the group reached a number of milestones, including meeting with the governor of the Central Bank and a march to the ECB headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.
