The recipe for a long life: 100 years celebrated in Kildorrery

The happy occasion of the 100th birthday of Michael Walsh was marked last Thursday morning, and following Mass in St Bartholomew’s Church in Kildorrery, about 90 people gathered in the local Community Hall to celebrate with him and his wife, his children, and many other family members and friends his achievement of joining the centenarian club.

High compliments were paid to Michael and his wife, Helen Gallagher; the pair have been inseparable for 30 years and on Thursday morning, Tom (T.O.) Flynn toasted the couple, remembering the many roads travelled together on the T.O. Park outings (and a very minor scandal during a recent trip!).

Paying great respect to Michael’s wife, T.O. noted the ‘great style’ of the duo, promising to take them anywhere they wanted to go.
