A pharmacist who operated from a premises under her proprietorship at Cork Road, Fermoy and another in Cahir, Co Tipperary and who claimed and received €33,000 from the HSE through false pretences, had her registration cancelled by the High Court on Thursday last.
Beatrice Ross, who was not present at the inquiry or was not represented, lived at Cooliney, Ballyhooly.
The enquiry heard she had made a total of 669 reimbursement claims over five months amounting to €33,000, for prescription-only medicines through the drugs payment scheme, for herself and her children, which an inquiry found were not supplied to them.
The pharmacies at Fermoy and Cahir of which Ms Ross was the proprietor, were inspected after a ‘red flag’ was raised in July 2013 by the HSE’s Primary Care Reimbursement Scheme (PCRS).
