Students from the Presentation Secondary School in Mitchelstown have spent the past two years working on the water theme for their fourth Green Flag and their hard work, research and innovative thinking for projects paid off when they were awarded the flag at a recent national ceremony.

The school has a strong tradition of green flags and each one requires a great deal of work and preparation.

It is important that the messages from the Green Flag programme hit home with the students involved, but also vital that they resonate with the entire student body and go out into the community.

As the students worked towards getting the flag, they worked on a number of projects and innovations in the school …
