This year’s Teen Talk, an annual event hosted by Cork County Council for young Transition Year students, took place on Tuesday in front of 450 students in the Radisson Hotel in Little Island and streamed live to all schools throughout the city and county that wished to avail of it.

Teen Talk 2023 featured Susan Hayes Culleton as MC, and included speakers such as Karen Weekes, the first Irish woman to row solo across the Atlantic, as well as the former Munster Rugby captain, Billy Holland.

Launched at St Colman’s College in Fermoy, with the Mayor of Cork County, Cllr Frank O’Flynn, he said that it was ‘vital’ for them to have support as they develop.

“We, in Cork County Council, are proud to once again launch this event which supports our teenagers to deal with the challenges of today promoting positive mental health, creating resilience and strength in a positive and compassionate manner. It’s great to see such interest in this event again this year both in person and through the online streaming provision for those who cannot make it on the day.”
