Fermoy's Pa Flood became one of the youngest winners of an All-Ireland intermediate road bowling title following his big win in Ballincurrig (near Midleton) last weekend.
It was also a feather in the cap of Pa's club, Corrin Road Bowling Club (Fermoy) – which is rapidly making a name for itself as 'a home of champions'.
Sunday's final was described producing a 'thriller of a score' up until the half way line, where Pa took the first big bend in one shot whereas his Armagh opponent failed to make it in one, with the Fermoy man taking the advantage from there on by raising a bowl of odds up the straight.
On the next straight he raised it to the second bowl of odds and from there, he finished the score by holding the two bowls.
Speaking to The Avondhu this week, Corrin Road Bowling Club spokesperson, Pa Flynn, said some very exciting talent was emerging from the club.
