Entertainment company Perks has put its plans to open an amusement arcade in Fermoy on hold, just over four months after An Bord Pleanála upheld the decision of Cork County Council to grant permission for the change of use of retail shop to amusement arcade in unit one of the Blackwater Shopping Centre.

A new planning application, incorporating the amalgamation of the vacant units one, two and three within the shopping centre, is seeking the change of use from an amusement arcade in unit one to retail use and to form one new unit for retail use, as previously granted under a planning application from 11 years ago.
