Re-think of Mitchelstown bus stop called for

The current Mitchelstown bus stop has been the cause of concern in recent times, with many local representatives believing its position is contributing to congestion and generating risks for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. (Pic: Ronin Scuffins)

Mitchelstown Town Team has sought cooperation from local TDs to help secure a review of plans for the southbound bus stop on Lower Cork Street, before further work is carried out. 

The stop, located outside Dealz, is due to be upgraded through the Cork County Council Bus Stop Enhancement Programme. However, representatives of several local organisations believe its position is contributing to congestion and generating risks for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. 

The Town Team is a sub-committee and representative of the Mitchelstown Community Council, as well as the TidyTowns, Age Friendly and Residents’ Association, Heritage Society and Business Association.
