Cork ARC Cancer Support is proud to announce the official opening of its new Therapy Garden, a specially designed outdoor space created to support the wellbeing of individuals and families affected by cancer. The garden was officially opened by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin, a long-standing supporter of the organisation.

Designed as a place of calm and connection, the Therapy Garden will offer clients a restorative environment to complement the holistic services provided by Cork ARC.

Cork ARC Cancer Support provides a range of free services to individuals and families affected by cancer, including counselling, therapies, and support programmes, delivered in a warm and welcoming environment. The development of the Therapy Garden was made possible through the generous financial and practical support of many local businesses, alongside significant contributions of time and expertise through corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Cork ARC also paid tribute to its dedicated team of regular volunteers, whose ongoing commitment plays a vital role in the organisation’s work. Stephen Teap, CEO of Cork ARC Cancer Support, highlighted the importance of the new space and its creation, with chairperson Pat Kierans, also acknowledging the collective effort behind the project.

Speaking at the opening, An Taoiseach Micheál Martin said that “Cork ARC Cancer Support provides an invaluable service to individuals and families across Cork and wider the region. This beautiful therapy garden is a testament to the power of community, compassion and thoughtful design. It is an honour to be here to mark its official opening.”

The Therapy Garden will now form an integral part of Cork ARC’s support services, offering clients a peaceful and nurturing space as part of their journey.
