Going to Croke Park for a major club final is one thing – getting the job done is another. Without question, the greatest day in the history of Watergrasshill GAA took place at GAA headquarters last Sunday.
Sometimes the preference is to play down the big occasion. Watergrasshill supporters were having none of that and in the week running up to their showdown with Galway representatives, Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry, there was only one subject of conversation on the ‘hill.
A massive exodus took place on Sunday morning with many setting off for the capital before dawn.
According to early risers, ‘there wasn’t a car on the road’ – a slight exaggeration, but we know what they mean.
