“A desire to serve” is what retiring Garda, Sergeant Jerry Quinn says was one of the main motivations for him joining the force over four decades ago. He served his last day as Mitchelstown’s sergeant on Monday, 31st March.

Originally hailing from Co Clare, Jerry left Templemore in April 1984, and came straight to Mitchelstown. Since then, he’s spent time in Fermoy, Kildorrery and Mallow, before finally settling back in the place that he’s called home for so long.
