Mitchelstown’s St Patrick’s Day parade was a massive event, described by the organising committe as ‘the best yet’.

A huge range of floats and walking exhibits were involved and the organisers, the Festival of the Galtees Committee wishes to thanks all those who helped make it the huge success that it was. These include all who participated, the judges, Aidan Dunne and his Garda colleagues for their help with security and traffic control; James Murphy of Murphy’s Garage, James’s Street; Tom and Anne Roche of Roche’s Cycles with special thanks to Jim Woulfe, CEO Dairygold; Kieran Cotter, regional manager of The Gleeson Group and The Avondhu for their kind support.

The committee also wishes to thank secretary Billy Roche and his team for the Trojan work organising the parade and looking after the podium; Jimmy Skinner who acted as grand marshall; Joan and Nellie for handing out the scrolls and should we have omitted anyone from the list of ‘thank you’s’, we trust you will understand.
