Mitchelstown ‘hub’ central to Peter Robinson bicentennial celebrations

The cast and Crew of The Robinson Experiment by CallBack Theatre, being staged in Charleville.

Organised to commemoration the brave, resilient people who left the Port in Cove in 1823 and 1825 from the Ballyhoura region and wider Munster area, an extensive programme of events will run from September 15th, through until the final events on Sunday 21st.

Over 150 descendants of the original settlers will travel to the Ballyhoura region for a week of cultural, historical, and commemorative events. Events will centre around four main ‘hubs’, namely Charleville, Doneraile, Mitchelstown and Kilmallock, with each having a schedule of planned evening activities across the week. Bus transfers will transfer participants to events being held in The Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown, along with Charleville Park Hotel, Springfort Hall Hotel in Doneraile and Deebert Hotel in Kilmallock.

COMMENCING 15TH

Day 1 (September 15th) will see a gala lunch in Kilmallock at 12 noon, as participants are welcomed to the Ballyhouras, to be followed by a bus transfer to Lough Gur, followed by return to the event hubs.
