
Many locals are preparing to set sail for Cheltenham with high hopes for a strong showing from local connections on the famed Gloucestershire racecourse next week, once the festival gets underway on Tuesday, March 11th, with flag fall at 1.20pm for the Grade 1 Michael O’Sullivan Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.
Tom Dalton and his son Bobby, are among those travelling with more interest than most, to what is possibly the biggest racing event of the season in the hopes of seeing glory on the track.
Lisleigh Lad
As co-owners of Lisleigh Lad, Tom (who runs The Butcher’s Bar in Kilworth) and Bobby have the horse in the capable hands of experienced Fermoy trainer and breeder, Eleanor Broderick. Paddy Power was offering odds of 50/1 in the Hunters Chase as of Wednesday.
“We’re going to Rosslare Tuesday evening and we’ll get the boat then Wednesday morning at 8am. We’re hoping to …” Mr Dalton said.
