A capacity crowd attended last Saturday evening’s ‘Gig For Gaza’ in Walsh’s Yard Bar, Mitchelstown. Organisers (North Cork Palestine Solidarity Group) were delighted with the level of backing the event received, stating it underscored Irish people’s support for the Palestinian cause.
All proceeds from the concert went to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Admission was free, however, patrons gave generously to volunteer collectors.
There was an impressive line up with locals, Seamus Hennessy, Ciaran O’Gorman and Shauna Mansell, joining the likes of Martin Leahy, Niall Hanley and veteran, Freddie White on stage. Other acts included Before The Ghosts, Aine O’Gorman and The Comma’s – among others.
