
Almost two years after Rathcormac residents battled the floodwaters of Storm Babet, a peaceful protest was staged outside County Hall in Cork by local residents, along with fellow flood-affected residents from across east Cork.
Residents from Rathcormac, Midleton, Mogeely, Castlemartyr, Killeagh and Whitegate held placards as they chanted ‘save our towns, don’t let us drown’, protesting against what they say is the slow progress with flood relief protection measures for their areas.
The protest comes ahead of a march, planned in Midleton on October 18th, marking the two year anniversary of the devastating floods.
