Flooding makes Rathcormac’s main street ‘impassable’

Rathcormac’s Main Street was paralysed by flooding on Wednesday morning with a status yellow rainfall warning in place for several counties.

Traffic had to be diverted away from Main Street, as it was deemed impassible for a stretch between the Community Centre and the old school.

Arriving on the scene around midday, The Avondhu witnessed water lodged along the street, while locals were out in their droves with brushes, shovels and equipment trying to clear the blocked drains which appeared to be the source of the issue.
