€12m investment for new research centre at Moorepark

The already impressive facilties at Teagasc Moorepark are set to be further enhanced with construction of a new research centre. To be known as the ‘Padraig Walshe Centre For Sustainable Animal & Grassland Research’, the new building will play a key role in helping Irish farmers hit their 25% emissions reduction target by 2030.

This ambitious undertaking was formally endorsed by Minister for Agriculture, Food & The Marine, Charlie McConalogue at a gathering held in the Paddy O’Keeffe Innovation Centre on Monday.

The event also acknowledged the €6 million contribution of FBD to the project. FBD was represented by CEO, Tómas Ó Midheach. Other contributors included Michael Berkery (FBD Trust), Pat Murphy (Farmer Business Developments PLC), Stephen Butler, Laurence Shalloo, Pat Dillon and the son of the late, Padraig Walshe, Pat.
