Ballylanders sparkles for the festive season

Christmas came formally to Ballylanders last Sunday evening with the illumination of the local park, which incorporates a well maintained and widely used playground. And who better to do the switching on than good old Fr Christmas himself.

Arriving in a tractor drawn cart, Santa said it was a great honour to be lighting up the park in front of so many adults, teenagers and very happy looking children. Following a countdown, a tree and the environs of the park glowed and twinkled in the frosty atmosphere. Prior to the switch on, there was a parade of vintage vehicles through the village.

CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK

In recent years, the park in Ballylanders has become a focal point for festive celebrations and Christmas 2023 is no different. The park committee put in a huge effort to ensure the venue looked its very best and for this, they deserve great credit.
