Chairperson of the Liam Lynch Commemoration committee Cllr Deirdre O’Brien, has announced that along with guest speaker Deputy Eamon O Cuiv, Cork County Mayor Cllr Patrick Gerard Murphy, will also attend this year’s event in Fermoy.
Cllr O’Brien also wishes to acknowledge the support of the Heritage Section of Cork County Council having secured funding for the cleaning of the Republican Monument.
This year’s commemoration will take place on Sunday, September 9 with Mass in Fermoy Church at 10.30am.
Guest speaker, Eamon O Cuiv, T.D., Spokesperson on Regional Development Rural Affairs and the Gaeltacht will deliver the oration at 12 noon at the Republican Plot in Kilcrumper Old Cemetery.
