
With tens of thousands watching Glen Hansard’s funeral from Dublin this week, online and on the RTE News channel, Glanworth man Bill Clancy’s thoughts returned to a battered Fiat 127 arriving in a village field just under 27 years ago.
Hansard and The Frames had come to headline Glanrock 99’, a locally organised festival staged in a large open field that reminded its founders of Ireland’s most famous concert venues.
