Speaking at the recently held Congo veterans’ reunion in Fermoy, Des Keegan remarked that none of those in attendance, including himself, were getting any younger.
“There’s never a perfect time for an event like this. None of us are getting any younger, however, I must say, I’m delighted with the turnout and it’s great to see so many familiar faces.
“The occasion is of course, tinged with sadness as we remember ‘absent friends’. We must also recall the memory of Trooper Patrick Mullins from Kilbehenny and the other soldiers who never came home,” Des told those in attendance.
