Carraig na bhFear is back in business as the shop and Post Office have both recently reopened.
For about ten months, locals in the area were without either as a change of ownership and renovations were underway and saw residents travelling to Blackpool for Post Office services and to Glenville or Whitechurch for the shop.
Tom Howard of Carraig na bhFear Community Council recently welcomed the opening of the shop and Post Office, noting the importance of such services in small villages.
“It was a big loss because we had no shop for that period of time and people missed it greatly. It was very dead without it. The elderly missed it mostly.”
