Rathcormac resident Gerard O’Sullivan, says he is ‘raging’ over being charged €20 for a medical certificate.
According to Gerard, his wife, who had taken ill, placed a phone call to the doctor in order to get a sick note. Despite having a Medical Card, she was charged for the sick note which was required to take absence from her workplace.
“They wanted two-thirds of her day’s wages for a sick note. How many €20s are they getting over the phone for a sick note? At the moment I’d prefer to go to the vet because at least he’d have a look at you,” Mr O’Sullivan told The Avondhu.
