The Avondhu was contacted by an individual during the week who had been declined a Covid-19 test referral from local general practitioners.

The individual said they had begun to experience Covid-19 symptoms and reached out to nearby GPs to get a referral for a Covid-19 test but to no avail.

Having contacted a local clinic, the person was declined a referral for a Covid test as doctors were not taking on new patients at the time.

“The last one left a sour taste in my mouth, and this is an issue because so many people don’t have a GP. I was obviously in a panic because I live with other people and have a responsibility there,” the person told The Avondhu.
