More than 130 people turned out in Kilmallock and Cappamore at the weekend to join Glenroe Sinn Fein Councillor, Lisa Marie Sheehy, in the protest against water charges.

Joined by Cllr Maurice Quinlivan, the two councillors spoke to the crowds about how they wouldn't stop protesting until the charge is abolished. Cllr Sheehy said that a lot of the people there were very grateful to the organisers, as they wanted to show that they were against the charges.

Even though the Government have rowed back on the initial charges which were announced, Cllr Sheehy stressed that this is not enough.

"The Government's announcement has had no impact on the protesting. There is still a massive amount of anger out there," she said.

There is another protest march in Limerick City on November 29 and then a bigger one in Dublin on December 10.

"We'll keep going until the charges are abolished and they will be eventually - I have no doubt," Cllr Sheehy concluded.
