Monday evening’s episode of ‘RTÉ Investigates’, whereby two individuals were exposed as lodging nuisance objections to developments which they would later withdraw in exchange for cash or other arrangements, focused on a stalled development in Bishop’s Island, Watergrasshill.
The planned housing development, under Vincentia Investments Limited, consists of 74 homes. It was granted planning by Cork County Council in September last year, but following an objection lodged by An Lucht Inbhuanaithe, is awaiting a judgement from An Bord Pleanála which is overdue since May this year.
It was revealed on the programme that the two men behind An Lucht Inbhuanaithe (‘the sustainable people’), have a history and a record of withdrawing objections once they receive a cash ‘go away’ payment.
