Skeheen’s Shannon crowned Miss Tipperary South

Skeheenarinky and surrounds may no longer have its Galtee Castle, but it still holds high a crown on the head of Shannon Brennan, this year’s Miss Tipp South and Miss Ireland finalist.

Ms Brennan spoke to The Avondhu this week about what it takes to be a Miss Ireland finalist, having been announced as the winner just last week – and it takes more than a dress and a bit of tan!

Shannon is a student of English and History at UCC, and like a true celebrity is running late (and is charmingly apologetic about it) for our phone interview.

So, how does a girl from Skeheenarinky (population 565) get in the running to represent the country at Miss World?
