Rathcormac FC has had to deal with a setback on commencement of training, as the club faced up against the destruction caused by vandals in recent weeks.
As the club returned to training on the Community Field in Rathcormac, it was found that the pitch had been damaged, the facility was littered with dog foul and the door to the club’s container had been broken in.
Sunday was the club’s first day back on the pitch, where coaches and players were first faced with the damage inflicted from tyre tracks on the green sward, as well as dog fouling across the facility.
According to Mark Roddis, Rathcormac FC founder, it appeared that someone had driven on the pitch in a car, leaving large, deep tyre marks on a section of the Community Field.
