Seán Sharpe, a photographer based in Leamlara, had been looking for a way to both thank and celebrate the people who have been contributing to their communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Online, he could see daily examples of people who were running marathons or taking to their bikes to raise funds for charities, and while he considered these options for a while, ultimately he turned to his passion for photography as a way to achieve his goal.
He set up the ‘Heroes of Our Pandemic’ (HOP) project in early May; an online project that would document people, through photography.
“The HOP project was put together to photograph and document people from our frontline staff, to care workers, and everyone in-between who have made positive stories during Covid-19,” Seán explained.
