This year, the hugely popular Bloom Festival moved online, and organisers asked people to participate from their own homes on Sunday last.
Seeing the open invitation, Fermoy locals Donal O’Lochlainn, wife Edna, and their good friend Niall, decided to shoot a video of the O’Lochlainn’s garden and submit it. Little did they know that they had a winner on their hands.
“Myself and Edna planned the video on Sunday. We sat down and thought it through, and then we went out and shot the video in an hour and put it up on Facebook,” Donal told The Avondhu.
The video grabbed everyone’s attention online, and was crowned winner of the Festival ‘Best Craic’ category.
