Gihans at The Hunters to bring new life to Upper Cork Street

Six months after the much-loved Mitchelstown establishment, The Hunter’s Rest, closed its doors, the bar and restaurant will reopen this November under a new venture, ‘Gihans at The Hunters’.

Robert Mullally, Eileen Casey and executive chef and restaurateur, Gihan Kumarasinghe, confirmed the news this week that the premises will reopen in early November, set to welcome the festive period in Mitchelstown. 

Speaking with The Avondhu, Gihan explained that he plans to make very few changes to the place, keeping the same look and decor and serving the traditional Irish dishes that the former Hunter’s Rest was known for, but adding his own flair to the food.
