Local councillors have called on Cork County Council to develop a civic amenity site for the disposal of domestic waste in the Fermoy Municipal District, or at the very least, to provide a waste collection service for those living in the area.
Speaking at the Northern Committee Meeting of Cork County Council, Cllr Kay Dawson asked Cork County Council officials if there was funding available to develop a civic amenity site in the Fermoy MD and requested that the area be prioritised for future funding.
“While the other areas have their amenity site, we’re minus any service at all. We’re wondering if it would be made a priority for our area. I’m not pulling back from anything on this, I’m just a realist …” said Cllr Dawson.
