There will be no INDIE music festival in Mitchelstown for 2025, as landowner Michael O’Shea confirmed this week to The Avondhu that the Indiependence festival will not be going ahead at its location at Deer Farm.

Saying that he’d be ‘delighted’ if the festival came back, he did affirm that unfortunately, it would not be so for 2025, with plans for 2026 as yet unknown.

That is not to say that another festival could not make its home in Mitchelstown, or that Indie could place itself at another location around the town. However, with summer fast approaching, this would now seem unlikely.
